Join us in celebrating moments of life William Gordon Plested III MD (1936-2025). William Gordon Plested III or Bill Plested was born in Wichita, Kansas. He was a graduate of University of Colorado, Boulder, and Kansa University School of Medicine in Lawrence, Kansas. He attended UCLA for his internship and residence in Thoracic and Cardiovascular surgery and practiced on the west side of Los Angeles for 40 years. Beyond being a physician, he rose in the ranks of his professional organizations, culminating in serving as President of the American Medical Association from 2006-2007.
He was adored by many people and his engaging personality filled any room. He will be remembered fondly by his family, and friends for his kindness, generosity, and forthright manner. Bill was a courageous man that tackled his profession and life with the utmost integrity and tenacity.
